Accessibility Statement
Last updated: July 2026
Our Commitment
We want droslo.com to work for everyone, regardless of ability. We actively test and improve accessibility, and we take feedback seriously when something isn't working right.
Standards
We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance. That's the international standard for web accessibility — it covers things like keyboard navigation, screen reader support, colour contrast, and text sizing.
Measures We Take
We have implemented the following measures to ensure accessibility:
- Semantic HTML: We use proper heading hierarchy, landmarks, and semantic elements throughout the site
- Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard. We provide visible focus indicators
- Skip navigation: A "Skip to main content" link is available at the top of every page
- Color contrast: We maintain a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text
- Alternative text: All meaningful images include descriptive alternative text. Decorative images are marked as such
- ARIA labels: We use ARIA attributes where necessary to improve screen reader navigation
- Responsive design: Our site works on all screen sizes and supports zoom up to 200% without loss of content
- Form labels: All form inputs have associated labels, either visible or via screen-reader-only text
- Link purpose: Links are descriptive and indicate their destination clearly
- Motion preferences: We respect the "prefers-reduced-motion" system setting
Assistive Technologies
Works with:
- Screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS)
- Screen magnification software
- Speech recognition software
- Keyboard-only navigation
- Browser zoom functionality
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, there may be some areas that are not yet fully optimized:
- Some interactive map features may have limited accessibility for screen reader users
- Third-party content (such as embedded maps) may not meet all accessibility standards
- Older PDF documents may not be fully accessible
We're working on fixing these and welcome feedback on anything that's not working.
Norwegian Regulations
We comply with the Norwegian Equality and Anti-Discrimination Act (likestillings- og diskrimineringsloven) and the Regulations on Universal Design of ICT Solutions (forskrift om universell utforming av informasjons- og kommunikasjonsteknologiske løsninger), which require public-facing websites to meet WCAG 2.0 Level AA standards.
